Mrs.Carr has a very interesting life. She is an art teacher at Lavallette Elementary School. She listens to all different kinds of music but her favorite is Yanni. And an excellent choice that is. On her spare time, she likes to go and play tennis and go and take pictures of all different kinds of things. But what she really doesn’t like doing is dishes and running out of gas on her way to someplace.
In the morning, she enjoys to drink a cup of coffee and have a bowl of butter pecan ice cream. On the following day for lunch or dinner she will have pizza. Mrs.Carr’s favorite subject is art, and her favorite movie is Sleepless In Seattle. She really enjoys watching the TV show Ally McBeal. She also enjoys playing with dogs. She always talks about how she would like to travel and see unusual places around the world.
Mrs. Carr’s family consists of six people Denise, Buddy, Michelle, Renee, Kimberly, and Danielle. Now you can see that Mrs. Carr has a wonderful family and a very interesting life. I would really like to learn more about her and her life.

October update

Kindergarten: The students drew paper sails for their parade on Columbus Day. The class reviewed their experience of the Lavallette Fire Department visit by making a shape fire truck in their art class.
First Grade: The students have made a landscape design of an Autumn scene that included color theory study. We are currently working on a pumpkin patch drawing . The students are learning the concept of overlapping giving the illusion of space.
Second Grade: The students worked on a drawing and painting in perspective that is on display in the downstairs hallway. They have started a shape scarecrow incorporating elements of art that will be on display soon.
Third Grade:The student's work" Falling Leaves" an oil pastel and water color study emphasizing the importance of the negative as well as the positive space is on display in the front office. The students are now working on an Autumn Landscape creating the illusion of space using diagonal lines.
Fourth Grade: Spiders and their Web is our theme for October. Their drawings have prepared their work for etching. We will again use the original drawings for a watercolor wash technique. Look for their creative work on display in the hall soon.
Fifth Grade: We have started an architecture project. Theme: Victorian Architecture. Three of the students prepared a Power Point presentation to help us with our research for inspiration for the architectural drawings. Thankyou Laine, Julie and Patience.
Sixth Grade: Charles Demuth has inspired the students to create a drawing/painting using his art example "The Figure 5 in Gold". They are working with mixed media to accomplish their work. They will be on display in the upstairs hall.
Seventh Grade: The students have been working with block printing. Using new terms such as bench hooks, registering a print, artist proof, printers ink, ink rollers, etc. You are invited to come into the art room to see the editions they have made in a variety of colored inks and assorted colors of paper. They will eventually will be making cards and booklets of their work.
Eighth Grade: Inspired by Claes Oldenburg the students are creating Bigger then life sculptures such as a rubic's cube, toaster, dice, shoes, food, i-pod, computer gagets, etc. They are using cardboard, masking tape, paper mache, casting material, paint and their imagination.
